THE SPARROWS

As part of on-going investigations concentrating on endangered animals this series - “The Disappearance of The Humble Sparrow” focuses on the plight of this tiny bird which, once ubiquitous, now has all but gone from our major towns and cities due to pollution.  Many works have a ghostly skull-like appearance and some are very much alive. The works are all monotypes. The same elements are used in differing orders, colours and combinations to make individual birds. It is of endless fascination this “Similarity and Difference” the way in which we, and animals, are able to distinguish one animal or person from another by subtle differences in features.
